In your own words, describe the Peloton Tread experience.
Robin
The Peloton Tread experience is a total body training system. I think that this is the new wave of how people are going to be able to train combining cardiovascular fitness and strength training.
Rebecca
The Peloton Tread experience helps to answer a broad range of fitness questions. What should I do today? What should I do if I want to get faster? What should I do if I want to get stronger? What should I do if I need to escape? It’s the answer to every single one of those things. It’s a workout that challenges your entire body. It can be your low-impact day, it can be your high-intensity, recovery, or training day! The Peloton Tread offers the perfect well-rounded experience for everyone.
What’s the most exciting part of launching the Peloton Tread for you?
Robin
As a runner and ultramarathoner, I'm actually excited to train with the instructors and on this beautiful product. I genuinely want to widen the aperture of how people see training. I want runners to strength train and I want people who are more strictly into strength training or personal training to open their eyes to running. I want to cross-pollinate and blend those two worlds.
Rebecca
The most exciting part of launching the Peloton Tread is finally being able to deliver the best workout in the world to so many different people. I love connecting with people and this community has gotten bigger and stronger as the company has grown and I honestly can’t wait to be a part of it! It seems that all our riders have wide open arms and they're ready to give you a hug as soon as you come on board. Knowing that every single person that is part of Peloton right now is going to become a little bit stronger, a little bit more motivated, and a little bit more challenged is really exciting.
What types of classes are you most excited to lead and why?
Robin
It will be really cool for members to take my bootcamp classes. This type of total body training is how I train personally so it is kind of a window into what I do. Sprint training, 5k training, all the way up to the marathon training is something that I live and breathe, so it’s great that something that once was a passion project is now an integral part of what Peloton is offering.
Rebecca
I am really excited to lead the bootcamp classes specifically because they are a cardio/strength hybrid and they give you the best of both worlds. It’s going to improve your cardiovascular system and increase your strength. Some days the approach will be laser-focused on targeting specific muscle groups with a goal in mind, while other days the approach might simply be to have fun and jam out to your favorite music while working up a sweat.
What can Members expect when they take your class?
Robin
First of all, training is tough by design so you know we are going to have a layer of beginner programming in which I am going to teach people new to this space how to do this. I remember being a new runner and being very intimidated by that experience. It matters a lot to me that we are meeting people where they are and growing with them. That said, I am also a very experienced runner and I know what it takes on race day. I'm not going to mince words or dilute training for our intermediate/advanced level athletes. I am excited and thrilled to be able to offer different levels and meet people where they are at in their journey while also making people even better in their thousandth mile or even in their marathon.
Rebecca
Members can expect a damn good time! I’m not the type of instructor that’s ever going to beat you down to lift you up but I like to motivate you by challenging you. There’s this motivating factor, and it maybe comes from the music, the build of the workout or the specific skills that we are learning but you’ll always feel supported and inspired! I love to build a great foundation and by the end of class, you’re doing things that you probably didn’t think you could do - a potent dose of empowerment! When people leave my class they always want to come back for more.
What’s your favorite feature on the Peloton Tread?
Robin
My favorite feature is definitely the speed and incline knobs. They make it so seamless! That is 100% a game changer. The functionality of the knobs make training so intuitive and it has never been done before. They are amazing!
Rebecca
Hands down, the knobs! It feels like driving a Ferrari. You can go from 0 to 60 in a second. It naturally makes you want to lean into a smooth run. There is no lag time to get into your high speed and there’s also no lag time to get out of a sprint which I love too because the last thing I want to do is sprint for a second longer. It’s intuitive and it’s fun! Same with the incline adjustments and having that right by my hips is super ergonomic. I don’t have to lean forward like I had to on previous treadmills.
